The Gathering
October 22 – October 29 2018 (6 Nights)
A 6 night – WILD Dolphin retreat
With Jeanne Booth, Bennie Naude and Courtney Ward
FEELING THE PRESSURE OF “SHOULD”?
Life is full of ‘shoulds’.
You should be at work or pick up the kids on time, should avoid junk food and eat healthily, should meditate more and stress less – and so it goes. Yawn…
WANT TO GET AWAY?
Want to go to a beautiful place where you get to have fun, swim with dolphins, and do some more serious stuff like meditation if you feel like it? Where everything (I mean, everything) is handled for you – from airport pickups to dolphin excursions to your bed made for you?
IT’S ALL ABOUT CHOICE
Get to enjoy delicious and healthy food, thoughtfully prepared with love and where you get to pick your level of engagement, activities and accommodation? Join the group for early morning meditations or sleep in, partake in the facilitated group sessions or go for long walks on the beach, and join us for an evening movie or lie outside and ponder the stars – this is a retreat all about choice.
MEANINGFUL TIME WITH QUALITY PEOPLE
Hang out for 6 days with meaningful beach-side conversations in a beautiful setting with other people who can (and do) talk about more than politics and the weather and two internationally skilled facilitators who can (and do) listen between the lines to find out what’s really going on.
REDISCOVER THE POWER OF PLAY AND FUN
Seriousness has a place. When we consistently choose it over fun and play, it comes with a cost, and a huge one at that. Most of us don’t allow ourselves to or have forgotten how to play and have fun just for the sake of it. In that, we lose something very precious. Come and rediscover the power of adventure, play and fun to re-energise and reconnect with yourself and perhaps, your forgotten or neglected dreams.
WHY COME AWAY FOR A WEEK ON RETREAT? BECAUSE YOU CAN’T DO IT AT HOME. OR ALONE. THAT’S WHY.
With so much information available on-line and in books, why come away for a week on a retreat?
Well firstly, it is because you are getting away.
Getting out of your routine and daily grind or run of things sends a message to your brain that things are different – bringing new insights, resolutions and allowing things to change. Being away from what is familiar makes you much more aware and receptive to all that is going on around you – allowing for new connections and the opportunity for shifts to happen, be integrated and remembered, so that things can change for good.
We are not designed to be alone. Our whole unconscious program is to be in community.
ADVENTURE, NATURE, NOURISH AND NURTURE
Living on the edge and challenging yourself while being held in a safe and nurturing environment goes a long way to create those new neural pathways.
And the essence of The Gathering has always been to nourish and nurture. It’s just what we do and is also why we have always chosen our locations and activities with such care.
Being out in nature sends healing messages to the immune system. It calms your brain waves. You sleep better, feel better, eat better, digest better – your body feels grounded and a miracle myriad of changes happen on a chemical level that you don’t need to do anything about or even know about that can impact your health and well-being.
RETREAT = ADVANCE
Retreats are really advances. It’s a going out to go within that allows everything to expand.
We have been running The Gathering Retreats for the last 5 years. Over months of deliberation, careful planning, intention and experience of what works we (Bennie and Jeanne) have created an experience that is profound.
We’re used to working with the best, and this time we’ve joined forces with Halo Gaia and the powerful experience of swimming and being with wild dolphins in their natural habitat off the coast of Mozambique. Ponta Do Ouro is a partial Marine reserve and the dolphin encounters are consciously and respectfully facilitated.
And then there’s the ocean and the beach and swimming with the wild DOLPHINS…….
“There’s just one thing you need to acknowledge; the dolphins encounter you on their own terms. This is possibly the crux of why a Halo Gaia retreat is so liberating; you have to let go of control – completely. You cannot dictate a thing; not the time, the place, the weather, the duration. Nothing is in your power any more. But it turns out that the dolphins are just the conduit for a much deeper connection – the one with yourself. The Halo Gaia concept is all about bringing people into a state of tranquility, respect and deep inner listening. ‘We all have the ability to intuit,’ says Courtney, ‘and if invited into a space to enable it, people come away with all sorts of experiences.’” – Pippa Tuckwell, Safari Tart
