Aqua – Earth Luxury Retreat

Song of the Dolphin – Whisper of the Elephant

15  – 21 May 2019

LUXURY 6-night Wild Dolphin & Wild Elephant retreat

With Tania Bownes and Courtney Ward

Breathe in the scent of Africa, listen to the whispers of her elephants, then float in the warm Indian Ocean with the wild dolphins of Ponta.

Take time to connect with the whispers of Nana and her beloved herd at Thula Thula, home of the late Lawrence Anthony, author of the Elephant Whisperer.

Take time to play with the wild dolphins of Ponta Malongane, as they open our hearts with their loving gaze, But mostly, take time to retreat, to walk the bush in silence, to explore the soft beaches, to dance and release, to be free, to connect with self and to breathe in the gentle, healing spirit of Mama Africa.

Tania Bownes

Tania Bownes

In a nutshell, I have been involved in healing work ever since I studied aromatherapy part time in 1994 and then went on to do reflexology, reiki, and a whole range of modalities. More recently I became a TRE (tension and trauma release) practitioner, teaching people how to release stress from the body with neurogenic tremoring. I combine this with Fascia Release therapy so that the person’s biography no longer holds the biology (or body) in deep patterns of tension. I have been a Nia teacher since 2003 and have used Nia, TRE and various other modalities in retreats since 2010. I have taken people on silent retreats to Temenos, Aqua adventures to Croatia and on many wild dolphin retreats in Ponta do Ouro with Angie.

My volunteer work takes me every Friday to St Lukes Hospice, where I do gentle massage on the people in the wards. This has been a delight for me for the past 20 years now. My husband and I are happily married and started an NGO called DreamWorker to help the unemployed, 10 years ago. I now work part time at this but love my involvement with something that is so very close to our hearts.

The highlight of my year is being privileged enough to join Tania’s retreats. I could rave on ad infinitum about the precision planning, fun and cackling laughter, glorious connecting with like minded souls, sharing satires and delicious meals all orchestrated with sensitivity and LOVE, kindness and professionalism. Facilitating personal growth through dance, silent mountain walks, meditation and TRE, my soul feels held, replenished and whole after these times together.

Nola

I have had the privilege of joining 4 dolphin retreats in Ponto do Ouro, facilitated by Tania. I have enjoyed magical sightings and swimming with the wild dolphins, feeling their healing powers, shared delightful Nia dancing classes, meditations, plenty fun and laughter, fantastic meals, and swimming in the warm Indian Ocean.

Jocelyn

I have thoroughly enjoyed all the retreats I have attended with Tania. We always have fun but at the same time Tania creates a safe space for the group. She is focused and committed to the group from beginning to end and has a special way of drawing people out. I would highly recommend any retreat with Tania
