Swim
with WILD dolphins:
Halo
Gaia Holistic Tourism offers regular dolphin-swim programs
to Southern Mozambique where there are approximately 150 Inshore
Bottlenose dolphins resident in the area. Our communion with
these dolphins over the past 6 years has produced some extraordinary
wonders. The encounters are often up close and very personal,
with eye to eye communication and intimate twirling dances…
Just you and a wild dolphin in the Big Blue! If you have always
imagined THIS for yourself, now is the perfect time to explore
the world of the dolphin with us!
No
dolphin harassment...
Run
to international standards, we ensure non-invasive interaction
with the dolphins. Our Code of Conduct include among other,
‘a no touch rule’, ‘one boat policy’
and carefully reading the dolphin behaviors before dropping
participants in the water. The dolphins have never been in
captivity, have never been fed, chased or lured. This is their
world and it is the dolphins that ultimately initiate the
swims. If they show avoidance behavior, we do not force the
swims and remain the observers from the boat. All our packages
include a snorkeling course in the dive pool and full code-of-conduct-dolphin-behavior
presentation and safety debriefing.

Did
you know?
- Tail
slapping is a sign of aggression, so are loud exhalations
- Welcoming
behavior includes bow riding, circling the boat and keeping
up with the boat
- Dolphins
possess the unique ability to shut down one half of the
brain to rest while being fully conscious with the other.
- Dolphins
are fully conscious of every breath they take. This highly
advanced form of breathing is referred to as conscious
connected breathing. Unlike humans who mostly breaths
unconsciously and this is referred to as automatic breathing.
- Dolphins
emit their sound vibrations (clicks) from their melon,
which is located above the snout between the eyes. This
is called echolocation; A highly specialized sonar which
enables the dolphin to scan the human body (e.g. pregnant
woman) and even emotional states (e.g. where dolphins
select people who are experiencing bereavement). These
and other advanced feats have left human sonar experts
gasping.
‘The
swim on Sunday filled my soul in so many ways.
I am blessed to have been part of this experience with like
minded spirits.
You have shown me a great deal and have given me a lot of
inspiration.
The
dolphins have boosted me to go for gold, listen to the goddesses
and
manifest my dreams and make them a reality. ’
‘Incredible,
amazing, and no words can ever describe the feelings the dolphins
evoked for
me. I was filled with joy and excitement – the kind
of joy you cant put into words. It just
bubbled up and spilled over!‘

'It
was in a dream world for a few days ... what a paradise!
I still remember the colour of the sea, he flying fish, the
dolphins and the whales ...'
