Conscious Soul based Dolphin Retreats in Mozambique
Courtney Ward owner of Halo Gaia Holistic Travel is honored
to have a close intimate relationship with a pod of approximately
200+ Wild Indo-Pacific Bottlenose Dolphin(Tursiops Aduncus) or
best known as the in-shore bottle nose Dolphins of
Southern Mozambique.
Courtney takes this privilege, with its responsibilies, very
seriously. Her approach and attitude is one of deep love & respect
for the Dolphins and their fragile environment. Our Dolphin
encounters with our privilaged guests are 100% on the Dolphins
terms, with no Dolphin harassment, chasing, touching or feeding.
The Wild Dolphins themselves set the pace for our daily
encounters and activities, and are free to choose where & when
they wish to interact with us ~ or not!
Nature sets the graceful rules within which Halo Gaia Holistic
Travel respectfully and lovingly obides
Dolphin encounters may range from eye to eye playful interaction
in the water, surfing the waters at the bow of the slow moving
boat or educational observation periods from the boat.
At a time on our planet when so many species both plant
and animal are threatened by humanities need to grow and
consume, we at Halo Gaia feel that to have the gift of respectful inter-
species communication with such intelligent-
self aware beings can help us all to understand the immense
wisdom and guidance that nature holds.
Respectful Interaction:
-
Halo Gaia work in close association with Parque de Malongane
and have since 2003 been responsible for the respectful
Dolphin interaction programs and basic dolphin behavior
research based in Malongane.
-
We strictly adhere and respect the one boat policy.
-
A thorough observation period is always conducted before
we will permit entry into the water to swim with the dolphins.
-
All Boat launches and dolphin interaction by Halo Gaia
is recorded and studied, data collected helps us understand
these magnificent beings and will help to preserve their
integrity and environment.
-
Welcoming and curious behavior includes bow riding, circling
the boat, eye contact from the water and keeping up with
the boat.
-
It is best to respect and leave the dolphins alone if
they dive down for extended periods, avoiding contact with
the boat.
-
If the pod has very young calf we will not enter the
water.
-
Chasing, grabbing or touching of the dolphins is NOT
permitted!
Did
you know?
-
Dolphins possess the unique ability to shut down one
half of the brain to rest while being fully conscious with
the other.
-
Dolphins are fully conscious of every breath they take.
This highly advanced form of breathing is referred to as
conscious connected breathing. Unlike humans who mostly
breaths unconsciously and this is referred to as automatic
breathing.
-
Dolphins emit their sound vibrations (clicks) from their
melon, which is located above the snout between the eyes.
This is called echolocation; A highly specialized sonar
which enables the dolphin to scan the human body (e.g.
pregnant woman) and even emotional states (e.g. where dolphins
select people who are experiencing bereavement). These
and other advanced feats have left human sonar experts
gasping.

Halo Gaia under the responsible wing of
Courtney Ward came to this work through a deep love of the
Dolphins and their ocean environment. Our Dolphin retreats
provide a platform for Courtney to create an experience to
swim with wild Dolphins, an exchange of knowledge and respect
for these magnificint conciouse creatures, and ultimatley
a transformation for all involved.
Halo Gaia holistic travel legally operates under the

"Transporte Maritimo
Commercial de Trafego local de Passageiros" license
